This was a peice done for the animania art competition in Sydney.
Its really a mixed peice for me, some parts I am happy with but overall I think I have found alot of areas that need improvement, colour composition being the main one. But as always it was a great chance to develop on my style and learn some new techniques. Im glad I could put a touch of nature in one of my works, that was really the theme I was aiming for.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the lineart, I hope it has improved from then ! And any further advice is very much welcome.
the background maze me so much ! (especially the tree). The only thing that looks weird are the clouds. Not the clouds themselves, but the way they're positionned in the sky. It doesn't feel natural, they seem "superposed".
But it doesn't prevent me from finding this drawing really beautiful !
You have outdone yourself
this is simply marvellous!
I -love- the way the skirt looks, and the background is breathtaking!
Your style is very natural, very relaxed, the smooth lines give it a sense of peace
once again, this is GREAT!

Because I like my bread with pickles and
Your colourings not bad man.Atleast the girl fits with the backround!
I agree with Soumakyo about the clouds, but that could be for artistic perposes so I have nothing to say.

This is extremely cute and to me, one of your best paintings ! I just love the peaceful mood, and the effort you put in the background and general composition. Nothing is neglected. I can see a great improvement in this piece, congratulations ! It is absolutely charming. I would say that I don't care if there are imperfections because the overall impression is excellent. And it's always when you can say that, when the eventual wrong details don't matter compared to the overall impression, that there is a real achievement in a drawing.
That looks lovely~ Love how you did the background especially. ^__^ Hmm... since you have the advanced critique thing on, I'd say that you should make the girl stand out more - she blends into the background right now and there isn't enough distinction between foreground and background, since the colour scheme you used is very similar for both. Perhaps make the girl's colours darker and more rich, or emphasise the lights and shadows more to bring the eye's focus back to the girl.
Wow! thats beautiful! when i first saw this i fell in luve b/c i luve the colors of the background expecially the tree its something about autumn that makes me luve those colors sorta splotchy colors all mixed together
i can tell the changes you have made from when u first drew this thats good... not good great! as what i can see i like it alot! i find nothin to critque b/c i lke the blurred look of the background with bright colors and the simple curvy lines and calm colors of the foreground so blah
yay! it's done.. and it looks so beautiful. ^__^
amazing job wit hthe BG especially, the trees and the sky and such look amazing.I see you fixed the skirt, too. The best par tthough.. is how well you ited the foreground and background together.. it doens't look so separateed it's fake. It blends perfectly. And that is what ties the entire peice together...as well as your lovely colorin skills as well.
